Nov 2025 NPTEL Exams

Dear SPOCs,
We have shared the list of specific updates for the NPTEL exams scheduled on Oct 31, Nov 1 & 2, 2025.

• Exam format changes: Certain courses mentioned below have been shifted from online mode to pen-and-paper mode based on the instructor’s discretion.
• Audio courses: Some courses include audio-based questions, and these have been listed for your reference.
• Other exceptions: Additional course-specific requirements have also been provided for your reference.

Pen-and-paper/Offline Exam: 
Candidates will have to appear at the allotted exam centre, produce the Hall ticket and Government Identification Card for verification, and take the exam in person. The question paper will be available on the computer. Answer sheets will be given to the candidate.
Candidates have to write the answers on sheets of paper, tie them and submit the same to the invigilator. Type of questions may include multiple choice questions, fill in the blanks, short answer type answers, essay type answers, etc.

Audio Courses:
For audio courses, the registered candidates have to bring their own wired earphones/headset (3.5mm Jack ) for answering audio-type questions during the exam. Earphones/Headsets will not be provided at the exam centre. The CPU will be kept on the floor in the exam room. So, ensure that the chord is sufficiently long to connect to the headphone jack in the CPU.

(Same followed last time also). 2) Drawing instruments are required such as eraser, pencils, pencil sharpener, ruler, engineering compass, set squares and rolling parallel ruler. Hence these items should be permitted inside the exam hall for this particular course candidate.
